Hi, tomorrow I am going for an interview at St Mary's College University in Twickenham to try and get a place for their Primary Teaching degree. I have a group interview and an individual interview. I know whats going to happen in the individual interview but what happens in the group one? I would really like to get some sort of an idea so that I know what to expect!

Hey, I went there and did Primary Teaching!

I was there 7 years ago. My group interview involved having a discussion about a current issue in education - they were looking for us to be able to understand the issue and explain our viewpoints clearly.

I have heard from people that have been there more recently that they needed to do a presentation of some kind as part of their group interview.

Good luck, I hope you get in, you'll LOVE it!

PS I still teach in the borough so maybe you'll end up in our school on TP at some point!

have you ever already been in this gadget or are you interviewing to bypass into this gadget? while you're going into this gadget, have you ever taken any training relating guidance in the previous? answer those questions in further information, then i will help you greater suited. suggestion off of the suited of my head: *gown professionally. that does no longer mean a adventure, yet a effective shirt and a few slacks might paintings advantageous. *sit down up on the instant. you've gotten an air of self belief approximately you (yet no longer an air of superiority). *once you're answering questions, talk succinctly, do no longer ramble or say "um," and look the interviewer in the attention. *Smile every time suited. *that's alright to be silent for some moments to think of roughly your answer. do no longer use "fillers" so as which you will talk together as you think of. *Be basic. If there is a few thing you do no longer understand, admit it graciously. As for the writing, i assume it sort of relies upon on how lots area they provide you. in the event that they provide you purely some lines, decrease it to those few lines. in the event that they provide you an entire sheet of paper, use approximately 2/3 to 3/4 of the website. Use your terrific handwriting. think of intently approximately what you decide directly to place in writing so which you do no longer make too many errors. remember each little thing you have found out on your grammar training. notably, relax. Take some deep breaths and locate your zen place. Interviewers can experience tension and it does not come off properly.

We do group interviews at my company and we use what is called behavioral based interview questions. Here is a website that helps you learn what it is and how to answer them.
