Is COLLEGE-LEVEL STATISTICS HARD????!!!!?

im a psychology major and have to take "1" math class which should preferably be statistics. ill be taking it next semester(spring semester). ive heard statistics is NOT REALLY hard its just a different type of math that most arent accustomed to. ALSO, if your just ok at math, is it possible to do good in it do you think?

I took statistics and it was sooo easy! You do have to learn different formulas than what you are used to, but it is easier than Calculus. Some of the other students in my class were having a hard time with it, but I think it was the professor who confused them. So ask around at your school what teacher to take and if you get a good one you should be fine.

I took business statistics from a professor that wrote the textbook. Well, even though he was a great communicator, he still made the exams hard to understand. He would give us notes and homework problems, but on the exams he would ask us questions differently. All in all, It's not as hard as calculus. Just make sure you know the material. Study with people who have a better understanding of the material. At least they can teach you methods on how to solve problems. For me every time I study with another person, I tend to get better grades.

Considering the fact that I am mathematically retarded, I still think Stats was a hard class. The professor pulled me aside and said how sorry she was that she had to fail me, even after all the study sessions and I only missed one class (day after birthday). She was truly sorry and said that math is just not my strong suit...



I took linear equations and inequalities 3x before I finally passed with a C-...



Ask around the department for someone who has a good reputation, possibly known too for being the "easy" teacher.

Actually it won't be hard as you think, just as long as you do the work and get help if you need it. I am taking it right now via online and even without a teacher right there, a good textbook with sufficient examples with help you succeed in the course.



Overall, if you do the work and get help when you need it, you'll do just fine. Even myself (who is terrible at math) will get a really good grade because I worked hard and worked examples over and over again. Good luck!

Depends on the teacher. Some teachers can make the ABC song harder than it really is.



For me, it was not hard at all. Very simple basic counting.

stats is so easy! don't worry a bit. i'm an english major, and i SUCK at math, but i aced it! it's honestly more geared towards people who think with their verbal skills (reading/writing/speaking) and that makes it a more useful class for people who aren't strictly science or math majors!
