I have been working as a software devoloper in a steady well paying job for little more than 2 and a half years but i dont believe i am achieving anything since i am working in a banking domain which is totally different from what i did in my undergraduate and i am bored of it since i dont really understand why i am spending all these long hours writing code for stuff i dont even understand (banking stuff i mean)

I want to go back to Grad school and specialise in computers and networking and eventually work in a field which is close to what i studied ,do you think i should go for it ,people say that you got a good job,a good salary why do you want to give up all that and go for it

My finances are pretty decent and I can afford grad school

By the way I am 23 years old and am talking about college full time

Do you think its really worth it in the longer run ?

Definintely! It sounds like you'd be much happier in a different job, and it sounds like that means much more than money to you. (Besides, you can tell those naysayers that with a graduate degree, you'll find an even better paying job.) I'm a 22 year old grad student right now, and I'm glad I'm doing it. I'd estimate that a third of the other grad students in my department are not the traditional "just out of undergrad" type like me, so you'd have no problem fitting in. I like having the opportunity to study in-depth topics that really interest me. You're going to work for the rest of your life, so taking 2 years off (if you're talking abotu getting a master's degree) won't seem like much in the long run. I know that in my department (geology and geophysics), nearly all the students are supported by either a teaching assistanship or a research assistanceship which pays most of the tuition and provides a monthly stipend, so between that and your already good finances you should still be able to live quite comfortably. I vote go for it!

It is never to late to learn!

And yes, it is worth it. It will help you out for future jobs and promotions that you want...
