I want to began my career in marketing, to eventually become a Marketing Manager, and did some research. I've found that it is a good idea to earn your associates in Business Administrations first then your bachelor's in Marketing. But i also see that a Bachelor's in Business Admin with an emphasis in Marketing is preferred. Please someone help me!!

Major in Marketing is important for becoming a marketing manager. To excel in your career fast. Do this:

While you are in 2nd year of college, look for Marketing Internships...to begin with. Also decide which industry you want to stick to. It is important to gain industry relevant experience and will be asked for when you apply for mngr's job.

In 3rd year, look for marketing co-ordinator or marketing assistant's job and get 2 years of experience while studying so when you graduate you can straight away apply for assistant manager's position.

After graduation and assistant mngr's position for 2+ yrs...you will be set for becoming a marketing manager!

I wish someone gave me this advice when I was in college. I wouldn't have to start my career as Mktg Co-ordinator then (which is not a big deal and you feel you are overqualified for the job).

Bachelors in business with marketing concentration is a much better option. However, make sure you take advantage of marketing-related internships offered while you're still in school. Without the internships, it's going to be very difficult landing a decent job without experience upon graduation.

no need to be too insist. what u plan now won't b exactly the future. i got my mba but i m in the field of completely irrelevant, sometimes we need to bow in front of the reality, off course, i mean $$$$. that 's life. the more u care now the more u b suffered in future, when things turn out differently. keep an open mind, and open option, u will find life 's good lo ! actually if u r outgoing personality, marketing would be a good choice, business adm is more like a general knowledge, without focus. that's all can i suggest ! good luck !

If you're passionate for it, yes. In fact business is the only major that gives you a great shot at becoming rich. However, you must love what you are doing, and work very hard. Once you're done school, you'll have to use good strategy. good luck.
