I'm taking 6 credit hours in summer school and I'm taking 12 credit hours in the fall. How many hours should I ask for on a part time job?

Start off with 10 hours and adjust as necessary. Also, think about when you're working. If you only work on the weekends, you can usually handle working more hours. But if you're working every day, you might want fewer hours so that you still have enough time to study.

No more than 20 hours I'd say. Anymore and it could interfere with your studies, which could lead to you dropping out. My father picked up a part time job and ended up working 35 hours a week, and eventually he ended up working there full time and dropping college altogether, Luckily he got experience in a field that's well desired so he makes about 150k now,but not everyone gets that lucky. But I digress, Work under 20 hours.
