I'm transferring from one college to another, and I don't want one of my classes to transfer because I failed it. That particular class dragged my gpa way down, and otherwise I had a very good gpa. It seems like I should be able to choose whats on my transcript because I paid for the classes in the first place. Thoughts?

You probably can't hide it from the transcript you're sending, but when you go to that new college it won't be on that transcript because most colleges don't accept/transfer credits in classes which you got a D or lower in.

If you failed the class it won't transfer anyway, because you don't have a completed class to transfer. And no, you can't choose what is on your transcript any more than you can choose the grade the professor gives you for a class, just because you paid for it! The "F" will be on your transcript no matter what, although if you retake the same class, it would replace it in your GPA from your first college.

However, usually when you transfer, once you have been accepted, your old GPA no longer counts. All that transfer are the credits. The only problem would be if you aren't accepted to the new college in the first place because of your low GPA.

Your transcript will have the grades you earned and classes you took regardless of whether you can transfer the credit for the class or not. The only time you can choose what appears on your transcript is when you sign up for a class or drop it during drop/add, not after.

Check with the registrar's office. Some colleges make it so that the credit will transfer, but not the grade.
