I am just curious because I am currently in the race and I already had my interview. Now I am waiting on a call or a rejection letter. Hopefully its the call. I just want want to know my chances. Also, is EVERYONE with a COMPLETED packet guaranteed to get an interview? And how do they determine how many people they want on the line?
More info:
-over 250 girls came to rush meeting
-I have a good amount of community service
-Had strong letters of recommendation
-gpa is 2.78

The simple answer to your question is no. Everyone that gets an interview is not invited for membership. If your packet is complete, you will receive an interview. As with any professional interview, there are many candidates who possess various qualities. Those who best meet the needs of the chapter and who demonstrate through their recommendations, interview, talents, etc that they have committed to higher ideals, have a better chance.

That being said, the school may put a quota on the amount of girls selected or the chapter themselves may only want to select a certain number. If over 200 ladies came to rush, it will be competitive.

I agree with my Soror. Although over 250 girls came to rush, all those ladies did not turn in a completed packet. Those who did were given an interview. Although your GPA is barely on the borderline, your letter of recommendation might make up for that since you say that were "strong". At this point, it's going to come down to your interview and the personal connections you have made with the current chapter members since they are going to be the ones that vote yes or no. Good luck!
