Well, computer science or software engineering or IT.
Which is more impressive for this general field?

If my main goal (putting it very bluntly) is to be rich as well as highly educated.

Currently studying a Bachelors in Computer Science. I haven't decided which branch I want to go into yet, perhaps systems security, software engineering/programming, or network engineering.

A PhD trumps a Masters. Are you willing to put in the time, the effort and the money to get a PhD? Because a masters is 2 years but a PhD will take you 4 or 5.

Someone with a PhD also has a masters, or at least the equivalent of one. The PhD is a higher degree, takes 2-6 years to earn after the masters, and requires an original contribution to the field. But it's not useful in computer science unless you want to teach at the college level, and that's a pretty low paying job compared to what you can do with a masters in computer science. So it's 2-6 more years just to get a lower salary on average. Depends on how impressive you think people will find it. As a PhD holder in the sciences, I can't say anyone is really impressed by that.

Getting a PhD is not the eay to get rich. If you pay attention you will see the rich people either inherited the money or they started their own business and were of the lucky 5% of those who started a business that get rich.

A PhD makes you a good living but it will not make you rich.
