I want to go to med school. I will be a transfer student, going into my junior year. I need a really great school somewhere in texas, i'm transferring from my current school for a better undergrad education. some people don't find that important but this school just is not "for me". My current G.P.A is a 3.0 (Not good enough for med school i know, I had some medical reasons and i'm allowed repeat/delete over the summers to correct my G.P.A.. My hardest choice is between Baylor and TCU but the other two are also considered. (Also applications have been submitted for the four schools) deadlines for fall are still being accepted so and answer or other suggestionss are greatley appreciated.

Baylor is one of only eighteen colleges in the USA to get an ACTA Education Foundation "A" rating for the excellence of Baylor's comprehensive General Education.

Prairie View A&M, TCU, and U of Houston, are not far behind, with "B" ratings.

A fine selection of schools. Did you do this deliberately?

I would go to Baylor cause they definitely have the better program. I would not take into account much that the other 'Bear' here said. Baylor College of Medicine is no longer affiliated with Baylor University. BU does not have a medical school, and there's no way you'll have a 95% chance of getting into BCM just for being from Baylor and having an above-average GPA.

When there were talks of BCM and Baylor University partnering up again just last year there was a huge outcry from BCM alumni and faculty, which wouldn't be the case if there were a bunch of Bears roaming around. Baylor University was all for it on their side. Needless to say.. the partnering did not happen and BCM remains an independent school. They're still highly ranked and great.. but they are not currently a part of BU.

All that said, I would still choose Baylor cause you'd get the most out of it education wise. It is also going to be the toughest of those 4 though.

Baylor.

I am a pre-med undergrad at Baylor. They have an amazing medical school. Literally half of the student population at Baylor is pre-med. And there is a 95% chance of getting into Baylor medical school if you have your undergrad from Baylor (there are always the people with below 3.0 GPAs and stuff like that who don't get in). If you have a Baylor undergraduate degree and go to Baylor medical school, the tuition is SERIOUSLY reduced. Which is awesome because of how crazy expensive medical school is. Baylor is the top ranked medical school in Texas. Take a deeper look at Baylor.
