I registered for Bcom(from IGNOU) in year 2003 and then my centre was transferred to Delhi after a year as I shifted to Delhi, my centre was changed after 3-4 requests. But my assignments(in IGNOU the procedure to clear a degree a candidate has to appear in written and has to submit assignments at the same time. For updating these assignments they take 6 months to 1 year) were not transferred by the respective regional centre. I cleared my written tests and when I went to my Bangalore centre to get my assignment marks updated, they made me comfortable by saying that my marks are already sent and will be updated soon. Now 1 year passed but my marks are not updated yet. I went to Delhi (Maidan Garhi) centre 3 times but they dint speak properly to me first time, next time they said to go to centre at Bangalore I went again but and the answer was same , third time they said “we don’t know anything”.

Believe me, IGNOU is the worst institution to study in. I am also a victim of such type of harassment. I am doing MCA from IGNOU. And I can give you tons of references who are in a state of mentall shock after harassments like : poor evaluation of exam papers, Assignment marks not reflecting, late publication of exam results(by the time the results are published you will be sitting in the next term end exam!, this gives the student hardly any time to prepare for the papers. Even if you have done well in exams there is no guarantee that you will clear the papers, clearing the papers is just LUCK), step motherly attitude of IGNOU staff towards students, bad reputation in the corporate sector(TCS, INFOSYS just refuse to take distance education students, although you will find exceptionally tallented people who are studying in IGNOU), very little help from teachers( corruption in study centres in allocating teachers, Bhai Bhatija Baad), and I can go on and on.......

The teacher should be approached so that they are made aware of the problem. If the problem persists then notify the building principal. As a teacher, I know that some students take everything as harassment or twist everything because they do not want to take responsibility. Make the teacher aware and see what their response is. Suspensions purpose is to remove students that are a distraction from the learning environment. I have mixed feelings because sometimes it is a reward and not a punishment. The environment at home determines this. If parents don't care, it is fun day off of school. If the parents, embrace the punishment, it is useful.

Contact some senior official in the student's division and make a scene this time when you go to the IGNOU centre in Delhi, until and unless they give you some positive answer, dont budge, stay there and keep on complaining.
