I just check my grades for my classes right now, and in one of them i received a F the rest is like D's and C's. I studied really hard for all my finals earning B's on the tests, but it wasn't enough to pull my grade up because I failed all the previous midterms. So now my GPA is below 2.0 now. My question is will I get disqualified just like that? Because I've never been on probation or been notify before. It wasn't until recently I started to pull my acts together, and studied really hard, even though I didn't passed, I know I tried. Do you think the school will give me a second chance? I'm in my second year at cal-state univeristy.

It depends on the policies of the school, and for how long your GPA has been below a 2.0. Some schools will give you an academic warning (academic probation), and others will give you academic suspension. You should make an appointment with your academic advisor immediately to discuss this.

I'm so glad that you pulled yourself together and did better toward the end there. That bodes well for your future semesters. Even if you do end up being put on academic suspension, don't give up. You've shown yourself that you can do college level work. If you keep it up, you'll graduate.

Again - call your academic advisor now, make an appointment.

Your school should also have its policies regarding academic suspension and probation up on its website somewhere, or in the course catalogue. Look it up.

It all depends on your schools policy. I would say they will put you on academic probation and all that means you have to get your gpa above a 2.0 by next semester.

it depends- you may be put on probation which means they will monitor closely your future schoolwork and grades and if you do not show a significant improvement you will be asked to leave

talk to someone- see you advisor- tell them what you said here

college is stressful and sometimes grades suffer for a number of reasons, not all of the school related, let them see you are committed to doing better and ask what their policies are in this kind of situation

don't wait for them to contact you about this, take responsibility and it will show them you are, indeed, serious about doing better
