I'm a senior with a weighted gpa 3.79... and unweighted 3.6...
I'm planning on going to Community college and transfer to UCLA.
From your experience, is college hard?
I heard about this TAP program to get into UCLA but i saw that the requirements are soooo much!
such as being in an honors program and what not. I feel overwhelmed.

What average GPA should i maintain? And tips on how to maintain a good gpa?

Do the TAP program, meet the requirements, and I'd assume you can get in. However, if you really want to go this route, you have to be prepared for the vast difference in challenge between a community college and a university. I'd guess that you have to get all A's in your time at the community college. Maybe maintain at least a 3.75.

It's still hard to transfer to UCLA from a Community college, but it's not as hard as it's going to be from high school to freshmen year.

The normal route (from high school to freshmen) has an admit rate of 20%. With the sudden increase in application for UCLA this year, that would go below 20% admit rate (for fall admits) for 2011 entry or class of 2014. In contrast, about 28.04% are admitted to UCLA through transfer route, and 30.83% for transfer coming form community colleges. Here's the latest data for UCLA transfers:

yes community college was easy, no effort needed.....I transferred to a 4yr university and it's is much much harder much more work, time to put in...and my school isn't well known like UCLA so I'd assume UCLA is like 20X harder than my work
