I am in grade 10 right now and struggling with academic math. I can move down to the applied math (easier but is intended for people going to Collage) but will that ruin my chances going to University. The guidance counselor at my school said that many University's here in Canada require grade 12 "Calculus and Vectors" and "Advanced Functions", so two high level math courses that he said are by far the hardest courses you can take in High School. The problem is math is my worst subject, I want to get into University in either a BA or BS (maybe later become a Dentist or Optometrist) but I can't do that high level math. Would I need to even take math in University? Is it mandatory in a general bachelor of arts degree. If you need to take math in a general bachelor of arts degree what kind of math.

You will need math for both dentistry and optometry. Think about obtaining a tutor./

whats up, i do no longer understand which province you're from, yet once you're from or making plans to attend a BC college/college, I strongly advise you to no longer take utilized math even once you're vulnerable in it. From what I bear in strategies, universities won't take it as a math direction with the aid of fact utilized math would not instruct you adequate of the mandatory math skills. and distinctly once you're going into something technology-y (e.g. Bio, Chem, Phys, wellness Sci, drugs, computers, etc.) or maybe issues like Psychology, and commerce/corporation you are going to choose for no less than a typical math 11 direction (in BC this is innovations of Math). it is by using the fact maximum technology fields require first twelve months math, it is Calculus. on the different hand, something like psychology is many times categorized as arts, yet once you're gonna substantial in psychology, you're gonna could desire to take a minimum of one direction in data and that demands common math11 as a prerequisite. So truly, taking the common math is lots a lot greater effectual contained in the long-term. think of roughly it, taking utilized math is greater convenient now, yet you're truly limiting your strategies, as a lot of issues require math. in short, in case you do no longer take the common math, you're in all possibility caught to in ordinary terms arts. And anyhow, each and every thing gets greater durable from Grade 10. So I strongly advise you're taking the common math. merely artwork greater durable at it, ask instructors in case you do no longer understand something till you get it, artwork at some issues usual. additionally, in case you think of with somewhat of luck approximately information math, it is going to likely be greater convenient so you might know it. extremely make clean this with your instructors asap. =)

just because you are not good at math doesn't mean that you can't get into a university. colleges also look at after school activities.
