Question:
Does my teacher have a problem with me?

My computer teacher doesn't respond to my email questions until a day AFTER the labs are due.

She has done this twice now. I'll email her a question 3-5 days before the due date (very polite and clear with the assignment number in the subject line), and she doesn't respond until the day after it's due.

Both times she claims to have "missed" the email.

I keep to myself in class (quiet), show up to every class, sit near the front, and always finish my work on time. I'm female as well...don't know if that matters.

She also seems confused. Her website (where we do labs and get our marks) has had many errors. For example, she accidently put down 100% on assignment that weren't due yet and this led some people to think that they had already finished so they didn't do it and got 0 when she fixed it...

I'm really confused, what can I do about the email problem? This is affecting my assignments, and I don't think that's acceptable...

Any advice? Thanks!

Maybe she's just disorganised, doesn't check her work email and sucks as a teacher?

Well that's your problem- don't be quiet! I was going through a hard time in college last time around and was complaining to my teacher about the things they were saying and he tried to help me. The more I showed my (real) dissatisfaction and made hullabaloo about it, the more he tried to appease me.

People really are natural people please rs for the most part. If you're legitimately not satisfied with something, speak up and be heard. I have found that people tremendously respect me more when I truthfully disagree with them and draw the line than to go on nodding 'yeah, yeah' when I don't agree.

People walk all over doormats. Doormats don't get any love. You would think that people would stand up for doormats, because they are the meek, but sometimes people think doormats do 'it' to themselves. You have to have that fire in you, that love for yourself, that knows when to put your foot down and say, 'wait a second, this is BS! I did this and this and you're not going to hold up to your end of the deal?'

Personally, I would stop emailing if I could and resort to other methods (''Hello Ms./Dr./Prof. So & So, did you get my email? Could I fax it to you? It's very important for me... should I send a currier? How about a currier pigeon?'')

Some times e-mails don't go through, it may look like it did on your end but the other person doesn't get it. It's happen to me before. Or she is just totally disorganized and not a top notch teacher. Talk to her about it.

Be very polite to your teacher and very politely tell him or her that this is the problem and it is really affecting me. I hope she is not doing it intentionally it is her mistake so go and win the faith of your teacher she will realy help you and this time she will help you mor then ever before so don't get angry be calm and know the reason and understand the solution.
