The Ivy league is but a small handful of universities in the NE US--Dartmouth, Brown, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Columbia, Pennsylvania, and Princeton. It is hardly a comprehensive list of the best schools in the US--it does not include Berkeley, Chicago, Michigan and many other first rate universities, and it most certainly does not include foreign universities (given that you did not know that, I wonder that you are a candidate for an ivy league school). As for rankings, all of the ivy schools are fairly high on the rankings lists put out by US News and similar, but that does not mean Yale, or any other ivy league school, is a good fit for you..

An IB diploma will undoubtedly be a major advantage in application to any good college or university.

There are eitht Ivy League faculties. My score is: a million. Harvard 2. Princeton 3. Yale 4. college of Pennsylvania 5. Columbia college 6. Dartmouth 7. Cornell 8. Brown USC is an extremely sturdy college -- yet ranks properly below the worst of the Ivy League faculties. The Ivy League is an athletic convention. USC is contained in the %10 athletic convention. the main suitable faculties in California are (for my area): a million. Cal Tech 2. Stanford college 3. college of California at Berkeley 4. UCLA 5. USC 6. UC-San Diego Following those are the the remainder of the UC faculties and a few inner maximum faculties -- like the Clairmont faculties.

Go to a college that has the best program for your major. Looking at solely Ivy League schools is not advisable, and could cost you dearly when applying for jobs after college.

Yes, having an IB diploma is impressive, but not nearly as impressive as complimenting it with community service, sports leadership, and school leadership. Colleges nowadays, especially those in the Ivy League, will waitlist you if all you have is a strong academic background.
