The choice of college really will have no effect on your education. All of the colleges will be good if they offer your course.

Choice of college is more for you really, although the likelihood is that you will fall in love with whatever college you end up at. It is personal preferences really, for example some people want a very large, well know college, whilst others want smaller, less touristy ones. Things to take into consideration are:

- number of places offered for your course

- size of college

- number of undergraduate students in the college

- location

- age of the college

The only thing that reflects on what University will accept you is what you got in the course you will do. If you are doing A levels then the better the grade the better for you. This is the same with a BTEC or AS levels.

I'm currently studying Medicine at Jesus College, Cambridge (:

First off all it doesn't matter which college you to choose to study at Cambridge and whatever college you choose to study at wont impact on your education or your future career. No matter which college you choose to study at, you will receive the same world-class education, and you will still make friends and have a brilliant time.

When you are choosing a college to study at you need to consider the following:

- What you like about the college

- How is the college different to the other colleges at Cambridge

- The different clubs and events they hold

- What you will benefit from studying there

- and if it's the right college for you

You do have to remember that even though even though every college has different admission processes they are sort of similar and you will have to pass the college's entrance exam and their own admission test. If you do have to take an exam study hard and aim to be in the top 1% highest scoring applicants as this is how they tend to choose whom to interview and make offers to - it does give a greater chance.

When you are called for an interview, you will most likely be asked about Cambridge and why you chose the college you want to study at so make sure you do your research, visit the colleges to come with a clear decision, don't rush into a decision and make sure your answer is clear and valid. Don't choose the college due to the following reasons:

- your friends are going there, because you might not be given a place

- because it seems to be the 'best'. All colleges at Cambridge have a golden reputation

- because the colege has a high acceptance rate. A lot of people applying to Cambridge choose the university based on the number of applicants being made offers, but you shouldn't base your decision like that as you might not get in and you might not like the college

I chose Jesus College because I loved the look and feel of it. It's very cute, small (so you meet many people) and it's very beautiful and pretty like a picture. Also, I like how the lectures are taught and how the course is taught. Make sure you visit each college that offers your degree and don't let anybody else influence your decision. Ask current students who are studying the degree you wish to study in the future what they like and don't like.

Good luck x
