It depends on what university you attend, what classes you pick, how many credits you choose to take per semester, etc. I'm currently a freshman at a top private university, and my total time in class per week is definitely a lot less than it was in high school. As for homework, a lot of college professors don't assign homework that they actually take up, but they do assign readings, suggested problems, etc., that will be to your benefit to complete. It's basically a lot more freedom and less structure in college, but at the same time, you have to take a lot more responsibility than you did in high school. For example, if you just finished one class and don't have another one for three hours, using those three hours as free time might not be as good of an idea as using those three hours to eat, get some reading/hw done, do volunteer work, etc.

I have about the same amount of in class time as I did in high school, counting labs and stuff.

Way more homework also.

Most majors do have less class time though, 15-20 is common.

If you attend full time, expect fifteen hours of class and thirty hours of homework and study. Laboratory time is additional.
