Hi,
I'm enrolling at Empire State College for a bachelor's degree in business. They offer bachelors of arts, science, and proffesional studies. The only difference I can see is the minimum liberal arts and sciences credits required for each (B.A. -most, B.P.S. -least). Can anyone tell me the difference between the 3 and which is more respected in the business field. Thanks.

Depends what you want to be.

A "BA" is respected.

A "BS" is respected.

A "BPS" lol...

If you came to me looking for a job, I would be more interested in hiring you if you had a BS, but I work in Information Technologies.

Where another person in a non IT environment might prefer a "BA"
?

BPS is a Bachelor of Professional Studies. As the title implies, a student getting this degree will focus most of his/her time on his/her academic major and all its prerequisites. That could be challenging at times depending on the major.

In order to expand the intellectual horizons of their students, BA and BS degrees present a bevy of electives in humanities and the like which can give students a breather and perhaps boost GPAs. BPS degrees are geared towards older students. The rationality is that older students' intellectual horizons have already been broadened through several years of direct life experiences so the electives are not available.

BPS is of a shorter duration depending on academic major but is a more intense pursuit.

I personally would go for the BS because (a) it's more well-known and accepted (in my view), and (b) I myself have a BS degree.
