As degree content really depends on the university, the easiest and most general way if answering this is that if you refer to criminal justice you are looking to study criminal law.



Criminilogy on the other hand looks more generally at everything from why they do it , methods used and of course methods of detection of crime.



Generally someone who wanted to do a criminology degree would be interested in the prevention and detection of crime.



Someone who studies a criminal justice (law) degree would be interested in either prosecuting or defending someone on criminal charges
