Hello. I am a junior, and I am currently freaking out about my future. I would like to get on mailing lists for colleges, namely UF because I am interested in going there, but I cannot find a way to do so. The only mail I get is from other colleges I sent my ACT score to. University of Florida was one, but I have received nothing from them. Is it because I am out of state? I am just on the border...
Please someone help me.
Thanks!

Here's the site. You can probably find the mailing thing there. However, I gave you the link for "staying connected" so you can still find out all the important facts there regardless. Being on their mailing list doesn't mean you're gonna have a greater shot at getting accepted. It just means you're one of the thousands of people they will mail basic information to.

Keep up your grades, make sure you stand out as a student, and best of luck.

Do not start at another college or university, in the classroom or on line, unless you obtain from the University of Florida a hard copy (not electronic) notification that your attending another college or university will not cancel your acceptance for spring 2012. Usually enrollment elsewhere automatically cancels acceptance and students are always required to report all previous college and university enrollment when they enroll at another university. An appeal of this matter is a waste of time and effort and will possibly antagonize the officials at the University of Florida. This issue cannot successfully be appealed. The university will fill any vacancies for the fall class from its waiting list for fall, not from students who were admitted for the spring. An appeal is not going to result in the creation by the university of a special place for you in the fall classes at the university. Best wishes.

Most of the mail is advertising. You could get a post office box in Florida, but doing so would not allow you to pay in state tuition. However, your state and Florida might have an agreement allowing students who reside in border counties to pay in state tuition in the other state if they are admitted to the other state's university. In any event, do not use the post office box as your address on your application.

Any information they send you can also be found on their website, having them send you a worthless brochure doesn't help your chances of admission. You can go on the site and sign up to receive stuff, but it won't make any difference to them. Perhaps they only send brochures to students whose ACT scores were within a certain range.
