I have to write an essay and my instructor says the outline is due Friday and rough draft is due Monday.

When I hear outline for an essay I think of a paper with a bunch of ideas (in order.) BUT our outline has to be typed and sent to his email.

I'm just confused and feel stupid right now, can anyone help me out?

An outline lists your ideas and sub-ideas. Yes, you will need to send it by email, but that should not be a problem. If you are concerned about formatting, I cannot help you, but I will give you an example. Each number and letter should be properly indented. However, the identation does not show up on the Y!A program. You seem to know what you are doing. Yes, you should include the numbers and letters as I have done in this example.

I. (Capital I for Roman numeral) Legislative Branch

A. House of Representatives.

1. Composition

a. Method of choosing--election

b. Age minimum--25

2.Apportionment by states

c.

3.

II. Executive Branch

etc.

I hope I have given you the general idea.

Haha, no, I think that format is fine. My history teacher uses that format in lectures all the time. An outline is more of a general, broad summary of your essay, not necessarily written in full, complete, book-worthy sentences, but just simple ones. A rough draft is exactly what the name says: a rough sketch of what your final paper will look like, but just a starting point that you will have to revise and revise. The rough draft should be in complete, nice sentences, but does not have to be perfect until it evolves into your final paper.

outline is the organization like

Green(topic)

-yellow(ideas)

-details(Red) its seems like something from 3rd grade but easy to understand.

rough draft is the first copy of your work which later on you fix and edit to make better. rough is the actual writing

You need to contact your teacher and clarify what he expects on the outline. I consider an outline just to organize your ideas and brainstorm

Do you are one of the people who hate working for an individual else? You want the freedom to earn you very own cash, make much more money, or earn a passive earnings, people who want to go about an honest way of creating money on the internet
