True, it requires basic math. Much of which gets done by calculator or computer program nowadays.

Accounting relies more on being organized and being able to keep up with law and generally accepted practices.

Thats what most accountants do is run and punch numbers in a computer.

I am an Accounting Major now, Its alot of math. Of course you also have to take Statistics, Algerbra, Calculus, Business Calculus/Math. If you dont like Math than Accounting isnt for you, because it involves alot of Math.

While Accounting is mainly simple arithmetic, the amount of math required to get a degree in the field is quite overwhelming.

You will take classes involving math you will never use while being an accountant. They're so hard it's enough to make a tough man cry. It looks like a different language with all the symbols and crap your professor will put up on the blackboard.

Even though most systems use computors and other accounting machines, you have to learn the math so that you understand the principles of accounting.

Why would you want to run an accounting firm, if you don't understand the principles? You wouldn't even know if the people who worked for you are doing their job correctly.

If you don't like math, you are really chasing up the wrong occupational tree...

You could write maths books for schools, work for insurance companies or be an actuary. However, you're very unlikely to find a job that's stress free. I believe God will help you to get a job that you'll be happy with if you pray to Him. When I was unemployed, people at my church prayed for me, and I now have a job I'm happy with.

Accounting or running a business both involve math.

Unless you want to get audited or stolen blind - you'd better learn to like it.
