I am a really nice honest person and I made a huge mistake I got peer pressured into doing something and I ended up getting into trouble and receiving a citation. I would do anything to take it back but its a mistake and Im just going to learn from it. I wanted to know if this would stop me from my goal of becoming a lady of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated!

A citation is not a conviction. If you never went to court because you never received a court date notice and instead the matter was handled informally by the juvenile probation department, the matter is not on your record as a conviction and should not have to be disclosed.

This answer is a general statement about citations. It is not legal advice. I am not licensed to practice law. No attorney client relationship is created.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Background Check

Background checks are done for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. prospects. This includes criminal history, but unless you were found guilty in a court of law you may be fine. It still may be tied to your profile. How old is this citation? For membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. you will need a sponsor and two co-sponsors (all three must be members of Alpha Kappa Alpha). If they are willing to vouch for you about how great of a person you are, membership is still an option. I can tell you are sincere about your regret on the matter so if you are selected for the interview process and it so happens to come up, express your regret and how you have grown from that. I hope you have grown from it.

Good luck on your journey!

The absolutely free background check sites generally provide the most basic of information, such as name, age and address. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book or personal knowledge. It's impossible to get a free background check.

Stay away from shady background check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable background check site like http://backgrounddetectives.info/Inteligator-3.html that has been around since 1999. If I remember right it's $19 for a full report.

When referring to the sorority members, refrain from using 'AKA'. 1. The chapter will let you know when they are having a rush by posting flyers around campus. 2. You can show your interest by attending any functions they hold on campus. 3. The chapter will decide when they will have rush/MIP. It could be during the spring one semester, and fall the next year. 4. The chapter may look at your overall gpa and the gpa from the last semester. Even though you need at least a 2.5 (according to nationals), the chapter may require a higher gpa. Check with the chapter if they have a gpa requirement higher than a 2.5. There's no limit on how much community service you've done. Just don't wait till the last minute or just enough to get by.

I just tried https://webmd.im/verispy last year to see if I could Locate my birth-father. My bio father left me when I was 7, and has refused to be a part of my life since. I grew up with my bio Mother and Step-father. I have only ever talked to my biological father a couple times until now. All I knew of him personally when I conducted the search was his first name, last name, and the street address of a previous address he used to have.

When the search results came back based on the minimal info I had, It pulled up a recent address along with even a phone number. When I called the phone no., I heard the voice of what sounded like it may be my step-brother. I asked if Joseph(my biological dad) was there, and he said no but to try back after 5.

I haven't done anything with the info, But I found what I was wanting to have.

I cant see why not!!! The only thing they should ask for is your transcripts. Make sure you have above a 3.0; but it usually depends on the chapter requirements. DON'T bring it up in your interview with them. If they don't know, dont tell them. They're not going to background check you or anything like that. I'm in a frat and I know WAY more dudes and chicks that did WAY worse things than you who got in and never got kicked out. That little minor theft shouldn't hurt.

This may not be on your record since it is just a citation but they do conduct background checks now.
