For some reason, I can't find the macroeconomics book or the chemistry book. Why would my professors assign books that are practically nonexistent?

I used an alternate ISBN for the chemistry book. The ISBN you've entered is for a book that is not yet available for purchase. You may have to purchase it from your college's book store, but the one I posted is the same book, just without the solution and lab manuals.

As others have said, Amazon is pretty good. Just type in the isbn number and you can buy used books from individual sellers. Do you know anyone else who has already taken these classes and may still have the book to let you borrow or sell to you? Do you know anyone else who is going to take these classes next semester that you can prearrange to sell the books to or split the cost with? Also, you might want to check the publisher to see if they have an e-book. Just weigh all your costs because an ebook may be less up front but then you have nothing to sell or share.

you can type in the ISBN number at this site:

www.busybee.bookrenterstore.com

and find all the prices for either buying used/new or renting for whatever amount of days you want.

Free shipping both ways.

Use a free textbook search site like UsedTextbookPrices.com. It will search many online bookstores for you and list the cheapest prices at each one. Its good for buying and renting textbooks.

It will definitely save you time.

Check the sites on http://college-junction.com/going-to-college/textbooks/ . You should be able to find it on Amazon for sure, if not any of the other ones.
