I'm a freshmen in college. I feel like I do study... i write down things in the lecture, ill review what the teacher tells me, I make flashcards and go through them and always end up remembering and retaining mostly all of them i feel! I'm pulling okay test grades 83%-88% which I mean is not BAD but I feel like i should and WANT to get into the 90% since some classes the tests are the only major grades. I go feeling pretty prepared but still ending up in the 80%! is there anything i can do to up the retaining or study to get the test grades to A's?

You'll get better grades if you actually understand what you're studying, not just memorizing, using flash cards, etc. That's easier said than done, in some cases, but if you understand what you're reading and hearing, then you won't need to memorize and will be able to answer test questions more easily.
