What do you think of people who CHEATED their way into getting a college degree?

I go to a four-year university, and I see people cheat all the time during exams. I have friends who cheat and always get away with it. They never do anything, while I study so hard to earn a good good. It's so messed up that even cheaters can graduate with a high GPA and get a good job.

I've never cheated to get what I want, so of course I don't get much, just what I earn. However, I don't ever spend one minute worried that I might be found out, that I might have to pay a consequence, that no one can resent anything I have. I go to sleep every night grateful for what I have because I owe no one and with the little I have, I manage to give to others on a regular basis.

On the other hand, one of my most interesting criminal charcters began her career cheating to get into college, Yale of all places. Check out this link to see where it lead her.

Extreme example I know, but just think of her instead of getting upset the next time you see someone cheating.

Honestly...nothing will really happen to these individuals. Unless it is a career that is specific to getting/practicing information, they will graduate and go into a career where they will be trained and provided with information.

I know, it sounds like the darker and more depressing side of things, but if it's English, Spanish, or some other class, that is unrelated to their future plans, than no, it probably won't have too negative of consquences. Now computer science, or accounting, or even some math (if going into a math field) maybe. However, it is what it is.

Something to keep in mind though, you're perpetuating the problem by witnessing it and saying/doing nothing. Whether it's confronting your friends or telling your professor's, you're violating the academic honesty policy by allowing that act to occur.

I know, this probably isn't going to be a popular answer, but in the end, think about it. It's kind of true.

Well let them!

If they strew up the tests but still manage to get the experience they need to do a job , it wont really affect them. However, if these are the lazy kind of ppl that I THINK your describing, they will feel it later.

I was different, I didn't study, did poorly on test and felt the pain right away. They will feel it later. I don't think I could cheat to save my life. I'm too afraid of getting caught.

The most important part of college is EXPERIENCE!! Nothing can top that. Nothing!!

All the work you do in class is theoretical and doesn't always translate into practical work. Its the framework for your knowledge. If all the cheaters want is a grade, then thats what they WILL get ( and a nice one too).

But they wont have what employers want. These are the kinds of ppl that make me sick because they get to work, can't do anything, and leech off of co-workers time. You cant fake experience.

Out do them by getting experience.

YOU BETTER WORK! =D

Well cheating from time to time happens...hell, it's funny to watch my accounting class when the professor leaves. If they cheat all the way thru it'll catch up to them eventually, but honestly...tests are pointless, it's knowing concepts that help in life that matter...can't cheat those.

I settle for it and do not mission such human beings for his or her behaviour. In later years those human beings will be established as center and top administration in view that fulfillment is so major to them. Ethics corruption starts early and is way less plausible/ seen/ catastrophic in lesser ranks. genuinely deservers, who've genuinely performed their plaudits grow to be -- because of their genuinely activity of their field -- the line-crew/ technicians/ boffins. each now and then being gifted potential one will be edge-tracked into obscurity by technique of the unskilled yet who're adept "gadget" manipulators/ managers.

Not much. Why don't you bring it up with your teacher? If they graduate and someone hires them and they try cheating at work; it will lose them that job and they will have trouble getting another one.

I guess that they won't be able to keep a job for that long because they don't really know what they're doing if they don't pay attention in class.

that's okay. it'll haunt them sometime after they graduate college and they'll wish they got the information they needed while in college.
